EDITORS NOTE: Welcome to another new TSF’er! Drew comes to us from Alabama (well, he hasn’t actually relocated I guess, he’s still there), and he’s far better at foosball than he is at real soccer.
Arsenal will face off against Southampton at the Emirates in the quarterfinals of the EFL Cup.
Despite making a habit of stealing their best youth talent, the Gunners have struggled with Southampton over the last few years, including a 2-1 loss at the Emirates in 2014 — the last time the two sides met in the League Cup.
That said, Arsenal did manage to walk away from their last clash with the Saints with three points. So if that game is any indication, the Arsenal faithful just have another nail-biting 90 minutes of own goals and late penalties standing between them and the semifinals. How hard could that be?
The tie is scheduled to take place the week of November 28, between a home game against Bournemouth and a road trip to West Ham.
