Newly-promoted Fulham are quickly starting to form the core around their side as they look to stay up in the English Premier League for a number of years, and Sky Sports News is reporting that one piece to their puzzle is rumored to be Arsenal center back Calum Chambers. The center back, age 23, signed a two-year contract extension prior to the start of last season, and it’s assumed due to this and the rumors surrounding Arsenal with other reported defensive targets this summer that Chambers could be surplus to requirements at the club.
Chambers, fresh off a loan spell at Middlesboro the previous season, featured in 24 appearances for Arsenal last season, and as the season wore on his performances steadily improved. If the club is to sell the player, who has the valuable home grown status, they’ll look to recoup as much, if not more than, the £18 million they spent to get the player from Southampton in 2014.
More to come, as always. But stay tuned to see if reported center back targets Sokratis [looks up on Google how to spell his last name]...Papastathopoulos or Caglar [also looks up on Google how to spell his last name]...Soyuncu sign in the coming days. Because that might the lever pulled that signals the end of Calum Chambers’ career at Arsenal.
