I love transfer season.

Jakub Jankto is the shiny new thing to be linked with a move to Arsenal and according to the Italian site Calciomercato, the Gooners lead in the race to sign the midfielder after Juventus are no longer interested.

The 21-year old Czech Republic international has impressed again this year in Serie A after having a breakout season last term. Through ten starts he has recorded one goal and one assist.

Midfielders are great to have. As Wenger has shown they can be played out wide (Aisley Maitland-Niles) and they can even be played in the back (Mohamed Elneny, Francis Coquelin, etc).

The player has expressed interest in moving to the Premier League in the past and it’s being reported that scouts from the team have been watching the Udinese player for months. Put two and two together and you get a transfer rumor. Arsenal scout a lot of players throughout Europe; they wouldn’t be doing their job if they didn’t. Just because an Arsenal scout is at a game watching a player, it doesn’t mean they’re going to sign them.
