According to a report from the Turkish club Galatasaray (who would, presumably, know what was going on), forward Lukas Podolski will sign a contract this afternoon to leave Arsenal for Turkey. Here is the aforementioned report:
Germany number 10 Lukas Podolski will officially sign the contract at the Türk Telekom Arena today at 16:30 local time, 15:30 CET.

Podolski doesn't really have a place at Arsenal, and with his salary in the neighborhood of £100,000 a week (around the same amount new signing Petr Çech will be making) he was always likely to be on his way out. It's a lot of money that was basically a sunk cost, and now can be used on Çech and any other new signings who may be on the way in this summer. Podolski can certainly get back on track in Turkey after a poor loan spell in Italy with Inter Milan, and hopefully that's what happens.
