After defeating Brighton and Hove Albion in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger commented on the progression of Villarreal's Gabriel Paulista towards joining the team. Yesterday it was reported that a fee had been agreed between the two clubs, and Gabriel himself has noted in the past that he'd totally be down for a transfer, if anyone wants to make that happen. It's starting to look like it's all going to happen.
In press conference, Wenger says Gabriel Paulista deal is "on the line" and expects it to get "over the line" by tomorrow.

Arsène: "Gabriel Paulista is very, very, very close. The deal should be done tomorrow."

So here's hoping there will be a Big Announcement tomorrow at some point, and we can get Gabriel into the squad as soon as possible. It'd be nice to get this all done with a week to come before our next match, in case he does end up needing to be called upon.
