Arsenal sign Danny Welbeck

Arsenal have signed the England international on a long-term deal.

Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Arsenal have officially announced the signing of England international forward Danny Welbeck from Manchester United on a long-term deal, after a protracted negotiation and an extension from the Premier League allowed the move to be completed after the official closing of the transfer window.

Reports are that the contract will be for five years, and around £100k a week. According to the club, "The transfer is subject to the completion of regulatory formalities." So I guess it's not officially done, but for god's sake, it's on the website so I'm counting it.

From the club:

The 23-year-old England international forward joins Arsenal from Manchester United, where he made a total of 90 appearances, scoring 20 goals. Since making his senior debut in 2008, Welbeck has also won 25 England caps.

He also played for Preston North End, so he now has the unusual distinction of having played for the only two English teams to go a league season unbeaten. Or he will, after he actually plays for Arsenal.
