The President of Atletico Madrid has come out to dismiss any interest in Santi Cazorla and other less known names as well.

With rumors swirling about a possible move for Santi Cazorla and other Premier League names, Atletico Madrid President Enrique Cerezo has spoken out and quashed all the speculation.

While discussing the various transfer moves of the current Spanish champions, Cerezo told Radio Marca:

Many names have been mentioned, but none of those players, neither Cazorla, Callejon, Torres nor Chicharito (Hernandez) are on our agenda...If we sign another player, it won't be any of them.

This then puts an end to a senseless rumor started mostly by the Independent after Cazorla was quoted admiring Atletico's La Liga success: "They had an incredible season last year. Winning titles takes several campaigns, I admire everything they have conquered. Many people do not realize how hard it is to win a league competing with Barcelona or Madrid."

To his credit, Cazorla tried to put an end to the speculation earlier, stating his happiness at Arsenal:

I feel good, I am staying very happy playing for Arsenal and the team now is more strong with the new players and I hope we win the trophy for the fans.

He's even said flat-out that he will play for Arsenal next season. But rumors are rumors and move faster than the truth.

Hopefully this means that we can all move on and focus on the more important things: filling the banter-shaped hole left by the departure of Carl Jenkinson.
