In the midst of everyone celebrating Alexis Sánchez's arrival yesterday, Guillem Balague reported that Arsenal are returning to Spain in an effort to add players to the squad. This time, Arsenal are allegedly trying to complete a deal with Atletico Madrid for their 20-year old right back, Javier (or Javi) Manquillo. Manquillo has played six times for the Spanish champions. In his last appearance, in the Copa del Rey against Real Madrid, he fell on his head competing for an aerial ball with Cristiano Ronaldo, fracturing the seventh cervical vertebra.
Arsenal are looking to loan Manquillo with an option to buy, something that has been reported both by Balague and the very reliable and all around great guy Kike Marin.
El #Arsenal ha pedido al #Atlético la cesión (con opción de compra) de Manquillo para ser suplente de Debuchy, al que ya tiene atado.

Presumably, this would mean Carl Jenkinson or Hector Bellerin would be loaned out; Jenkinson seems to more viable candidate, as improvement for him can only come from more games and Jenkinson had been linked with a move to Newcastle on loan to replace Mathieu Debuchy, who is set to sign for Arsenal in the coming days.
