With Sagna's contract situation still lingering as the season ends, Arsenal are, according to The Telegraph looking at Southampton's young full-back Calum Chambers. Besides owning a great name, the fullback would continue what has become an Arsenal tradition of buying great young players from The Saints --Oxlade Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.

Arsenal scouts have been monitoring the player for a while now, and in recent weeks have intensified their efforts on the 19 year old Academy graduate. The burgeoning fullback has had a breakout season so far for the high flying Saints and has managed 21 games in the Premier league so far, while continuing his duties in England's U-19s. While the transfer doesn't seem to be a direct replacement for Sagna --you can't really replace a player like that, it could be one for the future. The player is undoubtedly more experienced than Jenkinson this season and has done well opposite of Luke Shaw,

Though the priority in the transfer window remains an extension for Sagna, a defensive midfielder, a striker and maybe a proper winger that could take on the duties on the left hand side, the addition of the young Chambers could be a cheap and effective move in the spirit of the last two Southampton purchases. Calum recently signed an extension till 2017 with The Saints but with the club in a dire financial situation, a reasonable transfer fee for the player would be hard to turn down
