As if losing at home to Swansea City wasn't bad enough, Arsenal will be supremely behind the 8-ball for the North London Derby this weekend as one of the team's most important players will not be available. According to Arsène Wenger, Petr Cech was injured late and will miss the match against Tottenham Hotspur.
There is no timetable or anything for him yet, but it sounds like he injured a hamstring getting forward to try to attack on a late corner kick. I hate cliches like this, but I'm going to say it anyway: only Arsenal could have a goalkeeper get a hamstring injury trying to score a goal.
This probably means that the much-maligned David Ospina will be starting on the weekend, and while he's still a professional level goalkeeper, he's miles behind Cech – and after the defensive performance Arsenal had today, it's hard to have a lot of faith that he'll be put in a position to succeed. Maybe the Banter Gods will smile upon us for once, but right now this looks like a very bad day for the Arsenal Football Club.
