Arsenal scored at the end of the first half, with big Gabriel clearing the ball high and far to Gabriel Jesus who controlled the ball, performed a Cruyff turn, and threaded an amazing pass to a motoring Gabriel Martinelli who was being pursued by two winded Sevilla defenders and the Arsenal number 11 faced the goalkeeper, forced him to commit, then rounded him and scored in an empty net. All three Gabriel players (and no other Arsenal players) participated in this stunning goal. Early in the second half, Rice took the ball forward and gave a simple pass to Jesus who forced the opposing defender to retreat a tiny bit, allowing him just enough space to score with a top shelf strike. Minutes later, Gudelj scored on a thunderous header for Sevilla on a corner but there were no further goals, and the game finished Sevilla 1-2 Arsenal with the Gunners playing far better than their hosts.
