IKTS Week 20: At Tottenham. Updated thread to include additional game.

The Premier League has added a game, and this updated thread has thus become necessary.

The game is scheduled for Wednesday January 18:

Crystal Palace - Manchester United

Arsenal should have a won a game that was slowed down by a fearful Stoke-on-the-Trent team that should have conceded a penalty but escaped from North London with a point. This was the first game Arsenal did not score in the Premier League this season, but a clean sheet was a small consolation for the Gunners. A day earlier, Brentford (without the injured Ivan Toney) won 3-1 at home to Liverpool with the visitors committing defensive errors and with VVD playing while barely fit and being eventually withdrawn by Klopp. Everton allowed 4 goals to Brighton while scoring a single goal for a final 1-4 score. Leicester (without Maddison) lost 0-1 to Fulham. Manchester United won 3-0 without a sweat at home to Bournemouth. Southampton lost 0-1 to visiting Nottingham Forest and the Saints appear to be bound for the Championship. Aston Villa snatched a late goal at home for a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton in a battle of two Spanish coaches who had both previously managed Sevilla. Crystal Palace lost ignominiously at home 0-4 against the noisy neighbors. Finally, Chelsea lost 0-1 to visiting Manchester City, with two substitutes (Grealish and Mahrez) combining for the only goal of the encounter.
The eleven active participants (AsemBuckets, Mulz, and luismamontes did not post any predictions) combined for a paltry total of 49 points (for an average of 4 and 5/11 points per active participant) and there were only 2 correct IKTS predictions. The ten games for the Week ended up with only 2 home wins, versus 5 wins for visiting teams, and there were two draws. Overall, 25 goals were scored for an average of 2.5 goals per game.

Scores for the week:

Seidman 9 (0)
Sonny from Suffolk 7 (1)
ben from portsmouth 7 (0)
billvacation 4 (0)
ClevelandJames 4 (0)
skinnejay 4 (0)
Ray from Norfolk 3 (1)
Geaux_HR 3 (0)
Purple & Proud 3 (0)
rswansont 3 (0)
hansdampf 2 (0)

Stars of the week: Seidman is first on 9 points (but without any correct IKTS predictions) with Sonny from Suffolk in second on 7 points (and one correct IKTS prediction) while ben from portsmouth is in third place also on 7 points (but without any correct IKTS predictions) with the other eight active participants combining for only 26 points.

Clever pick of the week: Only Sonny from Suffolk had the exact score for Leeds versus West Ham. And only Ray from Norfolk had the correct score for Manchester United versus Bournemouth. An additional honorable mention to ben from portsmouth and skinnejay who both predicted a draw for Arsenal versus Newcastle, earning two points each, with all the other participants earning putrid onion rings.

Crisis pick of the week: A collective crisis due to surprising outcomes for several games, in particular Brentford versus Liverpool.

skinnejay 151 (23)
Ray from Norfolk 151 (17)
Geaux_HR 145 (23)
