The second round of Euro 2020 fixtures kicks off today. There will be qualification and perhaps elimination scenarios, although it will be difficult to be totally out of it with four third place teams moving on to the knockout stages.
Yesterday, Portugal bested Hungary 3-0. The match was closer than that scoreline suggests, but Hungary was at best heading towards a draw. Hungary didn’t offer much going forward but held out until the 84th minute when Raphael Guerreiro put Portugal ahead and a Cristiano Ronaldo brace sealed the deal.
France 1 - Germany 0 was a fantastic match. The Germans had more possession but most of it was without much purpose. The French looked extremely dangerous on the counter, and an early Mats Hummels own goal was all Les Bleus needed. France did have two second half goals taken off the board by VAR.
