The Shirt Fuse: Major Drip Alert

Adidas continues to impress with new takes on retro threads

Arsenal’s 3rd kit is hitting shelves and it’s a fine enough shirt that Ron Burgundy himself may ditch his signature suit just to don this baby on his skin. Adidas has updated the classic away kit from Arsenal’s 1995/96 season. Similar to our first season with adidas where they updated the look on ‘Bruised Banana’, these new 3rd kits are clearly the child of our blue lightning kits produced by Nike.

I doubt it will happen, but I would love to see us pair this with red shorts or red socks, to really bring some contrast out in the entire kit. I believe we’ll see some combo of navy shorts and similar socks with a slight design on them to give us a blue kit.

My kit rankings for this season:

1.) Yellow away - cannon badge is a level above the rest for me

2.) Blue 3rd kit - ordinarily this would be the winner for me, but that away kit is absolutely timeless. No shame in coming in 2nd here. This kit will be great to pull out in any year moving forward when you’re headed to the pub

3.) Home - I think this is our worst home kit since joining adidas, not really a fault, only so much you can do from year to year with our home kit and I just believe the first two designs were superior to this.

Will you be copping this kit? Let us know below. What number are you putting on the back for Smith Rowe?
