I guess Arsenal still have to play their Premier League matches.

Arsenal take on Fulham today at the Emirates in the Premier League. Yes, the Gunners still do have PL matches left even though focus and success / failure of the season hinges on the Europa League. Although I suppose that is not 100% true — there is about a 7% chance Arsenal can qualify for next year’s Europa League through table finish. Six of their remaining eight matches are against teams in the bottom half.

The two clubs met all the way back on the opening weekend of the season, with the Gunners thrashing the newly-promoted side 3-0. Alexandre Lacazette, Gabriel, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang all scored, and Willian picked up two assists. Since then, it’s looked likely that Fulham were going to be relegated for most of the season. To be fair, they have been playing significantly better than they did early in the season, but it looks like too little, too late to stay up. Scott Parker’s club are six points adrift of safety with one fewer match to play than the teams they are chasing.

Arsenal will be without David Luiz and Kieran Tierney for another few weeks, although the club thinks Tierney may have an outside shot at fitness for the Europe League final should the team make it. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is out as he continues to recover from malaria. Martin Odegaard’s ankle injury is healing, and he’s expected to resume light training next week.

Fulham will be without defender Terrance Kongolo, who managed just two appearances this season before picking up a season-ending injury against Wolves last week. Midfielder Tom Cairney, who has yet to play this season, is also out. Scott Parker may have the services of Ademola Lookman, who missed out last week.

Arsenal - Ryan, Bellerin, Holding, Gabriel, Xhaka, Elneny, Ceballos, Saka, Smith Rowe, Martinelli, Lacazette

Fulham - Areola, Andersen, De Cordova-Reid, Adarabioyo, Lemina, Lookman, Maja, Anguissa, Robinson, Aina
