It’s the first day of October, which means it is officially time to break out the Halloween decorations, hit the pumpkin patch, change the Twitter display names to something spooky, all that good stuff. It’s finally feeling like fall here in D.C., which is a very welcome change. It had been unnaturally warm in September, even for our globally-warmed world. I’m ready for some cooler temperatures and leaving turning.
It’s also time for that Green Day song, which I learned today (thanks trending topics on Twitter) is something lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong said to his mother shortly after his father passed. So do go ahead and make jokes or references to it, but also remember the song’s real meaning.
Beyond that, enjoy today’s open thread. Talk amongst yourselves. I asked a few weeks ago what your favorite season was, so I’ve got to come up with a different question for today. Uh. What is your favorite fall activity?
