Tuesday Cannon Fodder: sitting, watching, waiting

And I’m impatient.

Arsenal haven’t bought anybody in the transfer window yet. Yes, I know it just opened a few days ago and these things take time. But do you know what I say to that? Bollocks. Give me new signings and shiny, new toys. Give me excitement. Now!

I don’t really know what is behind this rather petulant CF today, but here we are. I’m expecting Arsenal to make some kind of transfer move before the close of the window, probably a loan or a mid-sized one as opposed to a massive splash. But why dilly-dally?

The longer the Gunners drag it out, the less time whoever they bring in has to acclimate to North London and learn his teammates’ tendencies. Arsenal are in good form right now, but they’ve got some tough matches coming up and their poor start to the season has left them little room for error. If reinforcements are coming, they need to come quickly.

I suppose when Thomas Partey gets healthy (and all signs suggest that’s sooner rather than later, thankfully), he’ll be “like a new signing” but I’m still staring at that creative, attacking midfielder-sized hole in the Arsenal lineup with trepidation. C’mon Stan, Edu, and co. Make something happen!
