Arsenal’s trip to Aston Villa has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. Aston Villa play at Walsall’s ground, the Bank’s Stadium, and Walsall also had their game postponed yesterday. The original fixture had, of course, been postponed because of Arsenal having a number of players in self-isolation.

This is the second straight week where Arsenal have had their match postponed on the day of the game. Last weekend, Arsenal were due to play West Ham, but the match was postponed because of snow and a frozen pitch.

It means Arsenal will go into next week’s match against Manchester City having played once in seven weeks, which is not especially idea. Arsenal play Chelsea the following Wednesday, and then the season pauses for an international break. The 5th round of the Women’s FA Cup was scheduled to take the place during the last weekend of February, but with the competition suspended, expect one of Arsenal’s postponed matches to be played then.
