Human beings are “creatures of habit” or so I’m told. We have our routines, the things we like to do and the particular times we do them, and we chafe when we get forced out of them. I thought I wanted today’s CF to be just about habits developed during time spent indoors during COVID-19, but I think I’ll expand my focus.
So let’s talk about the “7 Habits of Highly Effective Arsenal fans.” Sorry, I couldn’t resist.
Going back to my initial premise, one of the habits I’ve developed specifically during the time I’ve spent indoors, oddly enough, has nothing to do with actually being indoors. Back when it was warmer, my GF and I made it a point to go for a walk, run, workout, whatever outside. I plan to resume that habit when it warms back up, and I hope to keep it going even when the majority of my time isn’t required to be spent in my apartment.
As for habits more generally, I’m a breakfast person. For some, that may not seem like a notable habit, but I think in my generation, eating in the morning is much less commonplace than in previous generations. If I don’t eat in the morning (and have a coffee), my day goes markedly worse than when I do eat and get my cup o’ mud. For the record, y’all should be eating breakfast. Time and again studies have shown that it gives you important fuel for the day. Also, apparently we’re supposed to eat smaller portions more frequently during than day than our tradition three meal schedule, but I digress.
How about you all, readers? What are some of your habits, either acquired during quarantine or otherwise? Do you have any habits that you think are particularly quirky? I tried to think of any quirky ones for me, but my pre-coffee brain couldn’t come up with any. I’ll probably think of some and share them in the comments later.
