Tuesday Cannon Fodder: breakfast

The ideas for CF today were a bit lacking, so I decided to go with something that was right in front of me. Literally. My breakfast. Today, it’s a bowl of leftover chili because I can’t be bothered to make actual breakfast food.

“But you can’t have chili for breakfast,” you say. Sure, I can.

You can eat whatever food you want, whenever you want. Some people may not have realized that yet, but it’s a life-changing epiphany. It stems from the more general realization that you can and should do the (legal and reasonable) things you want to do when you want to do them. And screw anybody who wants to judge you for it.

Anyway. I know that some people often forgo breakfast, which I’m given to understand is a poor decision, at least as far as nutritionists will tell you. Apparently breakfast is important because it gives you your fuel for the day. We’re also supposed to be eating bigger lunches and smaller dinners, and really, we should be having smaller meals generally and adding in more substantial snacks throughout the day. At least that was what the research said the last time I bothered to check.

So what’s your go-to breakfast food? Do you eat something kinda boring on the weekdays and then make something special on the weekends? Do you have to have coffee / tea with your breakfast? How do you start your day?
