England

Aston Villa 0 - Wolves 1
A second half Leander Dendoncker strike provided the difference for Wolves. They’re in solo 5th in the table but their competitors all have a game in hand. Villa are tied on 27 points with West Ham and Bournemouth but have played one more game.

Watford 1 - Southampton 3
Danny Ings scored a brace for the Saints. Watford slipped to just a point clear of the drop.

Norwich 1 - Manchester United 2
Odion Ighalo opened the scoring for Manchester United. Todd Cantwell leveled the score 15 minutes later with a lovely goal. The match appeared headed for penalty kicks, but Harry Maguire banged home a loose ball in the box in the 118th minute to put United through.

Leicester City 0 - Chelsea 1
Ross Barkley supplied the difference in an otherwise desultory match. Leicester had some chances early in the game but were mostly impotent after that. The Blues will take on United in their FA Cup semifinal.

Newcastle 0 - Manchester City 2
A Kevin de Bruyne penalty was all that City need to breeze past Newcastle, but Raheem Sterling added a second for good measure midway through the second half. Newcastle never really had a chance in this one. City dominated from start to finish and will face Arsenal in the semifinal.

NWSL

North Carolina Courage 2 - Portland Thorns 1
Goals from Debinha and Lynn Williams were enough to beat a young Thorns side in the first team sport game held in the U.S. post sports shutdown. Simone Charley scored a late equalizer for the Thorns before Williams scored the winner.

Chicago Red Stars 1 - Washington Spirit 2
Rose Lavelle and Ashley Hatch put the Spirit in front in the first half. Morgan Gautrat got one back for the Red Stars in the second, but it wasn’t enough.

Bundesliga

Everybody held serve so Bayern, Dortmund, RB Leipzig, and Monchengladbach will make the Champions League with Leverkusen just missing out. Dusseldorf and Paderborn are relegated. Werder will play Heidenheim in the promotion/relegation playoff.

Dortmund 0 - Hoffenheim 4
Four goals from Andrej Kramaric secured a Europa League place for Hoffenheim and sent Dortmund to their worst home defeat in the league in years.

Serie A

Milan 2 - Roma 0
Goals from Ante Rebic and Hakan Calhanoglu kept the Rossoneri in the hunt for a Europa League place and dropped Roma nine points out of a Champions League spot.

Parma 1 - Inter Milan 2
Former Arsenal man Gervinho put Parma in front, but late goals from Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni grabbed the points for Inter.

La Liga

Celta Vigo 2 - Barcelona 2
A Luis Suarez double wasn’t enough for Barca, who were pegged back by an 88th minute free kick goal from Iago Aspas to split the points. The draw cedes control of the La Liga title race to Real Madrid.

Espanyol 0 - Read Madrid 1
A first half added time goal from Casemiro off an incredible backheeled assist from Karim Benzema was the difference as Los Blancos moved two points clear of their Catalan rivals at the top of the table.
