Friday cannon fodder: gratitude

Thanks, TSFers.

If you’ll allow it, I’d like to be real and a bit sappy for a minute. All of us here at The Short Fuse appreciate you, readers. We appreciate that you stuck around through the shutdown, and we appreciate that you’re still here now that Project Restart is underway.

It makes us really happy to see the comments firing back up on our posts. Engagement is one of the best things we get out of writing for the site. We’re all doing this because we love this club. Being able to share that passion and be part of a community is something that everybody craves. And not for nothing, the site has probably eased would-be tensions in our lives because otherwise, we’d all be talking Arsenal nonsense at partners, family, and friends who don’t care at all whether Bukayo Saka is best deployed in a more advanced role.

Thanks for being you, readers. Despite my complaining and gallows humor about Arsenal, I’m excited for the run-in. It’s going to be a football-filled month and a half.

Today is Juneteenth. The unofficial, becoming more official, celebration of when slaves in Texas received the news they were free in 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
