Friday cannon fodder: how are you?

It’s good to check in from time to time.

Good morning TSF! I’ve done threads in this vein before during self-isolation, but I think it’s important to circle back and check in with each other. So how’s everyone doing?

The loss of structure and time is having an effect on me. I get bursts of productivity followed by periods of stagnation where I find it hard to get things accomplished. The jokes and memes that are cropping up about “what day is it” and “what is time” are accurate. I never thought I’d realize that the regular passage of time was one of the things I was taking for granted in my life but here we are.

It’s not all bad. I mean, the world mostly isn’t great right now but the stories of kindness, caring, and the human spirit that I periodically see give me hope. Between the four walls of my apartment things are manageable. I’ve enjoyed my adventures in cooking thus far and am slowly clearing the backlog of shows on my DVR and in my streaming queues. I say slowly clearing because I still have 100+ episodes of Jeopardy taped; my parents do too, it’s a family thing, don’t ask.

Drop an update on your quarantine life in the comments below. Now more than ever, it’s important to maintain human connections, even if they are from behind avatars and screen names. And remember, if you’re having a tough time, please feel free to share with us here or with a friend or loved one in a more private setting. It’s okay to not be okay right now.
