Wednesday cannon fodder: US sports teams

It’s Wednesday! That means it is time for another Sporcle quiz. Today, it’s naming all the teams in the big four professional leagues in the USA — the National Football League, Major League Baseball, the National Basketball Association, and the National Hockey League.

I’m slightly disappointed with my 112/123 performance, especially because I missed two NHL teams. As a former hockey player and big hockey fan, I think I should have gotten all of them. I nailed all the NFL teams, missed two MLB teams, and seven NBA teams.

My brain was fried towards the end of the allotted 12 minutes. I think I would have gotten a few more across the board had I been quicker to figure out a trick that came to me in the last minute: look at the cities to jog my memory about teams in them in other sports.
