Last night, Mikel Arteta tested positive for COVID-19. As many as 100 Arsenal personnel — staff, players, etc. — are self-isolating for 14 days. London Colney and Hale End are closed for deep cleaning. This weekend’s match against Brighton & Hove Albion has been postponed. Reports from an emergency Premier League meeting this Friday UK time were that matches would be postponed for the next two weeks. The likely rescheduling of Euro 2020 to next summer would allow the league to finish up later into the summer.
Without matches being played, things are going to look a bit like they do in the summer around here. That is to say, somewhat less frequent posting. But have no fear, we’ve got some ideas for things we can do to slake your Arsenal Football Club content thirst.
A few things we’ve got brewing:
- A “Favorite Arsenal Player” March Madness style bracket that you, reader, can vote to determine the outcomes of the match-ups
- Looks back at famous Arsenal matches/moments over the years
- Analysis of the current squad: its strengths and weakness
- A look at the U23 season
- And of course, transfer rumors
I’ll also be doing a CF every weekday, as usual, but my Monday morning soccer roundup post won’t fly anymore. Is there anything in particular y’all would like us to look into during this down period?
