Tuesday cannon fodder: a request

Let’s move forward.

The time has come to move on from Unai Emery. We’ve discussed him and his tenure at Arsenal so much that we’re all blue in the face. Everybody knows where everybody else stands vis-a-vis his time in charge, so let’s stop re-litigating it.

This is not directed at any particular people. It’s a message for our community at large. When the comments turn to Unai Emery, things tend to move away from the respectful, informed discussion that we want to see and more towards sniping and negativity. That’s not what I want for this community, and I hope it’s not what you want either.

I’ve spoken to the TSF writers, asked them not to engage on the topic, and to let me know if things start to head in a repetitive, negative direction. I don’t want to have to be a disciplinarian, so please don’t make me need to be one.

To be clear, this isn’t a blanket ban on mentioning him. We like and support respectful, healthy, fact/statistic based discussion. I trust you all to use your good judgment. We have a great, active commentariat, and I want to keep it that way. I’d just also really like it if we could look towards Arsenal’s future rather than at the past.

Come on you Gunners, always.
