Happy Thanksgiving TSF! I know that of all years, this year there is probably less to be thankful for than in the past. 2020 has thrown pretty much all it can at us, but you know what, we’re still kicking. I think that’s worth being thankful for on it’s own. It’s been a hell of a year, and you’re still trucking.
Your Thanksgiving celebration probably looks a bit different this year. Mine definitely does. My family’s 30-some long year streak of going to the National Zoo on Thanksgiving morning was finally snapped this year. We’ve made it through rain, blistering cold, and a few medical roadblocks, but with the Zoo closed, well, that’s all she wrote. I’ll miss it this year, but you know what, next year we’ll start a new streak, one that will someday include the next generation in my family.
However you’ve chosen to celebrate, I’d ask you to please be as careful and as safe as possible. Wear a mask when possible, observe social distancing, and all that. Hopefully you know the drill by now.
And of course, it wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without inviting the perennial debate about the best and worst dish. The best is Mac and Cheese. The worst is stuffing. Try to tell me I’m wrong.
