The FA Cup magics on, as Arsenal play their fourth round tie against AFC Bournemouth, the third time the two teams will have faced off this year. My most fervent hope is that they avoid a fourth, and that Arsenal can win their second game of the three this year, because I don’t think anyone wants the fixture congestion that would come with a replay and a fourth meeting of these teams.
Mikel Arteta’s system is starting to take root, and now it’s just a matter of the players’ fitness catching up with what Arteta wants them to do before hopefully we can start seeing some consistency from this Arsenal team. It’s mostly a lost season, but success and progress in the FA Cup would be a nice little bonus in the midst of all the other stuff this year has brought, wouldn’t it?
