IKTS Week 7: On to Old Trafford!

Guendouzi energized the team, helping Arsenal to equalize twice, before Aubameyang proved again how he can singlehandedly carry the team. Aubameyang’s 6 goals have led to 8 of Arsenal’s 11 points so far this season. His knuckleball of a free kick ensured that Arsenal would not finish the day on a third consecutive 2-2 draw. Emery appears to continue to be both confused and confusing, at least to the fans, and possibly to the players. The referee was terrible, and if AMN was possibly worthy of a red card, a lot of "accidental" contact (sorry, it does not involve you, Mr. Papastopoulos) by Aston Villa, including a boot to Guendouzi's face, went unpunished. Liverpool won at Chelsea, and Manchester City overwhelmed Watford in epic fashion, but the great news are the losses for the noisy neighbors at Leicester and Manchester United at West Ham, with a cameo for Jack Wilshere in the latter encounter. Earlier in the week, Arsenal beat Frankfurt away, with Saka the undisputed man of the match.

Stars of the week: Geaux_HR is easily the uncontested winner for the second week in a row with 9 points (and one correct IKTS prediction) with ClevelandJames in second on 6 points (and one correct IKTS prediction) while third place is shared by sammy dog and Ray from Norfolk who are also on 6 points (but no correct IKTS prediction) but the others are right behind.

Clever pick of the week: Le Poulain Francais was the only one to predict the exact score for Chelsea – Liverpool, hauling 3 points and a correct IKTS prediction.

Crisis pick of the week: Only inthekcmix predicted a draw for the Chelsea-Liverpool game, while all the other participants had predicted a win for the league leader, but VAR could have given the exact score to inthekcmix had the outcome been a few inches more clement to Lampard’s team.

Geaux_HR 51 (8)
Ray from Norfolk, Virginia 45 (4)
hansdampf 42 (5)
inthekcmix 41 (6)

Cup game: Ray from Norfolk scores two points for guessing the correct goal difference, and most of the other participants guessed the correct outcome only, hauling a point each, while Geaux_HR predicted a draw, leading to a bagel. Le Poulain Francais forgot to post a prediction.

Cup standings:
