The most fuss, rightfully, is made of the North London Derby, but this is still, technically, a derby. Watford are several rungs below Arsenal on the prestige chart, but it’s still a game that Arsenal want to win, for all the usual reasons plus the chance for more local bragging rights.
They’ll have to win today without Alex Lacazette, who is out until October with “foot problems”. Otherwise, Arsenal are what they are - a side with defensive deficiencies who don’t play well away from the Emirates, playing away from the Emirates. Watford are rooted to the bottom of the table, with just the one point, so hopefully those defensive frailties won’t be a huge issue today.
