Iwobi’s been around since he was a child entering the academy at just 8-years old. His rise up the ranks saw him finally break through in the 2015-16 season when he earned his first cap. A direct, aggressive dribbler with great vision for through passes, Iwobi is just 23-years old. There’s good reason to think his best soccer is in front of him. So while the fee is quite high, Everton may be quite pleased with this purchase.
For Arsenal, it opens a spot on the left side. That may be where Mesut Özil begins with new Gunner Nicolas Pepe flanking the right side. Reiss Nelson is also an option, but I’m not sure he’s season opener starting quality. Regardless, it’s going to be an interesting lineup when Arsenal kicks things off on Sunday against Newcastle.
But today, we bid adieu to the Nutmeg Prince.
