IKTS Week 4: NLD at the Emirates.

Dodgy defending and an inability to score on two presentable opportunities compounded by Emery’s choices (who forgot to read my piece for week 3) caused the Gunners to lose with an acceptable score of 1-3 thanks to a nice goal by Torreira. Beside our result and the unavoidable win for Manchester City at Bournemouth, only Chelea won at Norwich among the top 6, with Tottenham losing at home to Newcastle, and Manchester City losing at home to Crystal Palace with (once again) a penalty (this time by Rashford) being saved. Overall, there were 7 wins away, a draw that should have been a win for Burnley at Wolverhampton, and only two home teams winning. Crazy! Even crazier is that only Liverpool has 9 points, with Manchester City at 7, and Arsenal at 6, just a point ahead of Leicester. After that, there are 10 teams on 4 points and 5 teams on 3 points, with only Watford being pointless, from all standpoints, and probably cojones-less! as well Next week brings the North London Derby. If we play to our strengths, we should easily emerge on top of this game. After that, there will be an interlull, just so some pointless games can take place.

Scores for the week:

sammy dog 8 (2)
hansdampf 7 (2)
ClevelandJames 7 (1)
Ray from Norfolk, Virginia 6 (1)
Le Poulain Francais 5 (1)
Geaux_HR 5 (0)
inthekcmix 4 (0)

Stars of the week: sammy dog tops the week at 8 points (with two correct IKTS predictions) ahead of hansdampf with 7 points (with two correct IKTS predictions as well) and ClevelandJames also on 7 points (but with only one correct IKTS prediction) while the other participants are not too far behind in a week that had numerous surprising results.

Clever pick of the week: Only hansdampf had the exact score of 1-3 for Bournemouth at home to Manchester City.

Crisis pick of the week: Only hansdampf failed to predict wins for Chelsea and Leicester away, at Norwich and Sheffield United, respectively.

Standings after week 3:

hansdampf 24 (4)
inthekcmix 21 (4)
sammy dog 21 (3)
Ray from Norfolk, Virginia 21 (2)
Geaux_HR 20 (1)
ClevelandJames 19 (2)
Le Poulain Francais 16 (1)

Overall, hansdampf (at 24 points) is in the lead, with three participants at 21, but they have a different haul of correct IKTS predictions as the table shows. It is still early days.
