No disrespect to either Newcastle or Burnley, but Premier League week three is where, as the kids probably don’t still say, shit gets real. Arsenal travel up to Liverpool to take on the defending European champions, a team who were one loss away from being Invincible last season. Fun fact: Arsenal drew against Liverpool at the Emirates last season. Liverpool lost the Premier League by a single point. You’re welcome, Manchester City!
Anyway, yeah, Arsenal have their hands full today. Liverpool are in first place over Arsenal but only by goal difference, plus it’s August so the table doesn’t matter. They’re coming off a 2-1 win over Southampton, in which they struggled to put the Saints to the sword, and both they and Arsenal will want to kickstart their seasons with a big statement win today.
Liverpool made their statement in June in the Champions League; I’d rather hear what Arsenal have to say today.
