With news of Skhodran Mustafi’s imminent departure from Arsenal coming out the last few days, it got us thinking about players that made, well, not as much positive impact as their teammates in recent Arsenal memory. The list was quickly whittled down to two very decisive, very polarizing players – neither of whom really stood out being anything more than a mediocre squad player, at times putting in matches much worse than that. We debated internally for a bit before realizing we wanted to hear your thoughts.
Who had a worse run of his Arsenal career: Shkodran Mustafi or Francis Coquelin?
On one hand, you have the entirety of Calamity Mustafi’s work, but his fanboys will point out that he began his time at Arsenal with a very long unbeaten streak that surely had nothing to do with any of his other 10 teammates on the pitch. And on the other hand, you have Coquelin, who just sucked but garnered a lot of praise for his, uh, tackling? And, uh, his running? And hand-waving? Huh, what did he actually do well at?
Anyway, what say you? Who was the warmer, chunkier pile of poo while at Arsenal?
