The Short Fuse Fantasy League week 2 recap

It’s not how you start, but how you Finnish

Week two of the Premier League brought plenty for Arsenal fans to cheer about. Not only did the Gunners find themselves finishing in second in the Premier League table after some favorable results to their rivals, midfielder Dani Ceballos had a debut for the ages as he bossed the pitch against Burnley en route to earning Man of the Match honors.

Not a bad first start, eh?

Ceballos’ performance was also good enough to earn a spot on the Premier League Fantasy team of the week, making him the second Arsenal player to earn the accolade in as many weeks. Ainsley Maitland-Niles earned a spot last week after his impressive display against Newcastle.

The week’s top point-earner was Norwich’s Teemu Pukki, whose hat-trick heroics against Newcastle made him the most transferred-in player across all teams (mine included). After bagging 29 goals in the Championship last season and winning the EFL Player of the Season, the Finnish striker has announced himself to the Premier League with four goals in two games, tied for top scorer with Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling, last week’s top point-earner.

In the Short Fuse Fantasy League, the second week saw a great deal of shakeups. Last week’s tight top ten has turned into a proper top ten, with Show Me The Mane taking the top spot, climbing from outside of last week’s top 10 to the top after a strong week two.

The only two teams from last week’s top 10 to remain in this week’s are Aubalaca and aakash.08. The parity is real, folks!

With a huge test against Liverpool on deck, the Gunners will have to hope that Ceballos can recreate some of Saturday’s magic if Arsenal want to escape Anfield with their first victory since 2012.
