Name a more iconic duo than Arsenal and the bruised banana kit. I’ll wait. The only thing that could come close is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette’s well-documented bromance.
Wait, what’s that? Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette WITH the new 2019-20 bruised banana away kit? Shut up and take my money Arsenal.
To be fair, we’ve seen this image before - it was posted on Reddit in late May. But it “leaked” again today. In an since deleted Instagram post, Aubameyang is pictured wearing the new away kit, confirming the poorly kept secret that adidas is calling back to the famous 1991-93 away kit for the upcoming season.

It’s not quite the bruised banana in its full, hideously beautiful glory, but the pattern evokes that iconic design. It’s an homage to the Gunners last go-round with adidas, and I’m here for it.
The skeptic in me wonders if all these “leaks” aren’t actually leaks, if adidas and Arsenal are trying to build hype (it worked). The realist in me acknowledges that it could be an honest mistake. We’ve all done it — let he who has not quickly deleted an ill-advised or poorly timed social media post cast the first stone.
The Arsenal fan in me is just HYPED. That July 15th official release date can’t come fast enough.
