Arsenal lost 1-2 to Olympique Lyonnais today in the Emirates Cup, but the real concern was over FW Alexandre Lacazette, who was forced to come off after just 15 minutes having sprained his ankle.

After the match, Manager Unai Emery indicated Laca might have dodged a bullet:

on Lacazette’s injury...

Good evening. We are thinking it’s not important, he decided with the doctor and with me that it is better to take no more risk. He tried to continue playing but I think it was better in the pre-season to take patience. The doctor said to me he is going to check tomorrow but the thinking is that it is not important.

on if Lacazette will have a scan…

It’s in his ankle. [A sprained ankle. He will probably be assessed over the next few days - but it’s not serious].

While that at least inspires confidence he’ll be back soon, Laca did exit in a boot after the match:

Arsenal open their 2019-20 Premier League campaign in 14 days against Newcastle. We’ll have to wait and see if Laca’s ankle heals up enough over the next two weeks to feature in the season opener.
