A new piece from the Evening Standard’s James Olley suggests the talks between Arsenal for LW Yannick Carrasco from Chinese club Dalian Yifang and AFC Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser are “stalled”:
It is understood Dalian remain undecided whether they are prepared to sell Carrasco. The 25-year-old is thought to be interested in a move to north London but the two clubs are yet to agree a fee. He is believed to be rated at around £30million.
That figure is also unlikely to be enough to prise Fraser from Bournemouth, who issued a statement last week insisting the player was “an integral part of the squad”.
Olley notes that Bournemouth “thought to be” open to Fraser playing into his final contractual season a risk that Arsenal have learned all too well in recent years.
Beyond those two targets, Lorient’s Alexis Claude-Maurice is also mentioned though he recently disclosed to French paper L’Équipe that he’s keen to join Borussia Mönchengladbach.
It’s officially the first day of summer, and the transfer window remains wide open for Unai Emery’s side...it just remains to be seen whether anyone will come through the opening.
