Arsenal v. Burnley match thread: shrug

Technically there is still a chance, but c’mon.

Arsenal v Valencia - UEFA Europa League Semi Final : First Leg
I want Unai Emery to do his most outrageous tactics for today’s match.

If you’re watching this one, I applaud your dedication to Arsenal Football Club. If I wasn’t covering the match, I’d probably be flipping back and forth between Manchester City and Liverpool because everything else is all but settled.

Technically. the Gunners still have a extremely slim chance of finishing 4th in the league. They just have to win, have Spurs lose, and make up an eight-goal goal difference. Easy peasy, right?

Since that isn’t going to happen, Arsenal shouldn’t play ANYBODY that they might want to use in the Europa League Final at the end of the month. As PDB said in the preview, I don’t want to recognize anybody in the lineup. But I’ll settle for giving key players like Laurent Koscielny, Sokratis, Nacho Monreal, Granit Xhaka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and Alexandre Lacazette the day off. It would also be great to give guys like Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock, and Bukayo Saka some game time.

I’d also be in favor of using the avant-garde 1-1-8 formation. You’ve gotta make up a big goal difference, why not go for it?
