Arsenal announced the commencement of voting for the club’s player of the season on Tuesday, including an even mix of defenders, midfielders and forwards amongst the six Arsenal standouts on the ballot.

There is some criticism on the topic though, as fans discuss what the criteria is to land you on the list for POTS. A lot of the criticism seemed to land on Lacazette after finding himself with an above average 13 league goals in a season that isn’t even over yet.
Lacazette winning Arsenal player of the year putting up what is currently average numbers for a striker shows what a shit show its been for our players individually this season. Laca for me needs to get 20 league goals and fire us into top 4 for that to be acceptable imo.

The standard at arsenal has really dropped massively, when I'm seeing calls for lacazette with his 13 league goals in April to be named player of the season, he cost 50m ffs.

In the end, the players up for the award are more than deserving. All six have contributed in their own way, which played a key role in our first season under the new regime.
