IKTS Week 35: A 14 game week!

Aubameyang had the only goal for the Gunners at Vicarage Road, with big fat Troy Deeney being ejected after whacking a defenseless Lucas Torreira. The most delicious part was Kyle Martino insisting that it should have a yellow, unless it was just a caress, in which case it should have been nothing. Obviously, if it were one of Kyle Martino’s favorite teams, there would have been an enormous outpouring of exuberant indignation. In my opinion, the show should stick to the two Robbies, unless they can afford Thierry Henry now that he is in between jobs. Liverpool took care of the despicable Chavs thanks in significant part to a wonder goal by Salah. Manchester City continued their winning run by beating Crystal Palace, with Sterling scoring a brace and miss-hitting a sitter, thus missing on a hat trick. West Ham should have tied Manchester United away, but an apparently valid goal was deemed to be off side. Our participants scored an average of 10 points along with close to two correct IKTS predictions a piece.

Scores for the week:

inthekcmix 14 (2)
hansdampf 11 (2)
Ray from Norfolk, Virginia 10 (2)
sammy dog 8 (0)
Geaux_HR 7 (1)

Stars of the week: inthekcmix is easily in first place with 14 points (and two correct IKTS predictions) while hansdampf (11 points / two correct IKTS predictions) and Ray from Norfolk (10 points / two correct IKTS predictions) complete the podium, but sammy dog and Geaux_HR are not too far behind.

Clever pick of the week: Only inthekcmix had Fulham beating Everton, missing on the exact score by granting the Toffees a goal. The Toffees put all their energy in the game against Arsenal the previous weekend.

Crisis pick of the week: Only Geaux_HR failed to predict that Watford would lose because of an exceptional performance (or should I say vintage performance?) by the Gunners.

Scores after week 33:

sammy dog 309 (50)
hansdampf 304 (42)
Ray from Norfolk, Virginia 293 (34)
Geaux_HR 250 (29)
inthekcmix 234 (26)
ClevelandJames 232 (27)
unclf14 104 (14)
Captain Kirk Three 26 (2)

Overall, sammy dog has (only) a five point lead over hansdampf while Ray from Norfolk is 16 points away.

Cup game: With an exact score, inthekcmix completes an excellent week by hauling 3 points (and one correct IKTS prediction) while Ray from Norfolk gets a single point for predicting the correct outcome, but not the correct scoreline, nor the correct goal difference. The other participants shamefully doubted that the mighty Arsenal would win at home against Napoli.

Cup standings:

inthekcmix 17 (2)
Geaux_HR 13 (1)
Ray from Norfolk, Virginia 11 (1)
ClevelandJames 10 (1)
sammy dog 10 (1)
hansdampf 9 (1)
unclf14 4 (0)
Captain Kirk Three 3 (0)

A significant lead for the inthekcmix who appears to have all but won this contest.
