The Mikel Arteta Era, if coaches even have eras any more, is under way. After a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth on Thursday, the festive period continues today as Arsenal welcome Chelsea to the Emirates for some leftover eggnog and a turkey sandwich. Or something. Festive!
If there was ever a time Arsenal could step up and kickstart their revival, it’s against this Chelsea side. A point against Bournemouth was...fine, and Arsenal showed some life particularly in the second half, but it’s getting to the point where showing some life might not be enough. Arsenal have to show up, play a complete game, and make sure that they’re heading in the right direction, and if they do that, good things might just happen against a big club going through a pretty rough patch right now.
