Mikel Arteta’s first game as Arsenal manager is in the books. And it went about as one would have expected; after only a week’s work, Arteta isn’t going to fix every problem Arsenal had. Arsenal managed (checks notes) zero shots on goal in the first half, and went in for their half time snack down a goal, but Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leveled things in the 63rd minute and, while Bournemouth had a goal ruled out for offsides, after the Auba goal, Arsenal seemed to spark into life a bit.
While Arsenal couldn’t turn that into three points, hopefully that spark will turn into an actual flame in the coming weeks as Arteta has more time to get his ideas across in training.
