Arsenal at Bournemouth match thread: post-Christmas lethargy?

The new era starts today.

Here we are. The Unai Emery Experience is over, Freddie did as good a job as he could as interim boss, and today sees the first game of Mikel Arteta’s time as Arsenal manager. It’s only been a week since he was appointed, so the same caveats apply to this game as to the first game or so under Freddie; a week’s worth of training isn’t enough time to make a substantial amount of difference in the club, so I’m not honestly expecting much out of this game.

What am I expecting? I’m expecting more energy, more focus, and more positivity. I don’t know what “stopping the rot” looks like in a game, but I’m expecting that. The club is embarking on a new direction, and while the finished product is a ways off, I hope that we can at least see some green shoots poke through the dirt today, to give us even a small taste of what we can expect for the rest of the season. A win would be nice too, but in all honesty, right now, I just want to see signs of life.
