World Cup quarterfinals day one: Time, TV schedule, how to watch

After two days’ rest, the World Cup roars back to life this morning with the first two quarterfinal matches. First up sees Uruguay taking on France, followed an hour after the conclusion of that match by Brazil and Belgium squaring off; the two winners will face each other in the first semifinal this coming Tuesday.

I know there’s only been one knockout round so far, but this year’s tournament has been a lot of fun - usually by the time the knockouts start, teams are afraid to lose so the games turn into dour, defensive messes, but this year most teams have at least tried to keep some semblance of an attack going. Hopefully that trend continues today.
