An update—with some concrete details.

More news on the Yacine Adli front: Paris Supporters, a PSG fan site, is reporting (in French) that the young Paris Saint-Germain player has made more detailed plans for a transfer to Arsenal. This update comes with the usual transfer rumor caveats, especially since we don’t know this source and I don’t actually speak French, but the Adli rumor has a few other sources behind it as well.

Adli is just seventeen years old, and he made his professional debut as a substitute in PSG’s last Ligue 1 match of the season. He has a connection to new Arsenal manager Unai Emery through the French club, he would be a classic Sven Mislintat signing—a young player who hasn’t gotten expensive yet—and he seems to play Arsène Wenger’s style of football. He has good vision and a lot of potential, and he’ll need playing time to hone his skills, which L’Equipe cites as part of his motivation for a transfer.

Paris Supporters reports that Adli’s move to Arsenal will be made official on July 29th, when the player turns 18, and that Arsenal will pay €255,000. That is almost nothing compared to most top flight transfer fees these days. If the rumor turns out to be true, and if Adli lives up to his promise, this would be an absolute steal.
