The Shirt Fuse: Arsenal’s 2018/19 away kit released

No surprises here; they’re back in dark blue.

Fresh off the utter disaster that was the 1-9-1 record Blue-strocity away kit of 2017/18, Puma has made the bold choice of continuing to ignore Arsenal’s rightful away color the stick with blue. But, at least, this time they’ve given it some classic red highlights.

Previous leaks were accurate, as they usually are, so there are no surprises. Unlike the home kit, the speckling armbands and slight colors in the chest actually work pretty well with this shirt. It’s mostly solid with a little highlight. As well, those socks are fire-emojis. The look feels like they aim to capitalize on the popularity of last years third kit, with the dark get up being quite popular.

But... can we talk about the shorts? What even?

A strange mix between crime scene blood spray and red-hued TV snow (oh, shit... do you kids even know what that is?), they are a distracting mess. Whether or not the red pops at all will be a big factor in these being the ugliest shorts I’ve seen or have them appear in various hues of purple as players rush by.

I will individually judge anyone who buys the shorts. But who cares about me; what do you think?
