This season may have been a bit short on team hardware, but at least one individual award is headed to north London. It was announced today on Instagram that Reiss Nelson, who has been at Arsenal since age 9, was named the Player of the Season in Premier League 2:
Nelson has shown all kinds of promise this season. In addition to his POTS win, he has started to make a handful of appearances for the senior squad. He got his start, as most kids do, in Cup competitions before earning several substitute appearances in the Europa League this year, first appearing as a late substitute in the group stages against FC Koln. He also had a handful of Premier League appearances, most recently earning a start against Manchester United in late April.
Congratulations to Reiss Nelson on this fantastic achievement, and hopefully his trajectory will continue under new management.
