This season has been SO MUCH FUN, we can’t all wait to get to the next one, right? RIGHT? Anyway, after a couple weeks of speculation, we now have confirmation of the details of Arsenal’s participation in the International Champions Cup, a stupid cash grab series of friendlies all gussied up as an Actual Competition, with a trophy and everything, because everyone knows nothing counts more than winning a trophy.
At any rate, Arsenal will, as previously rumored, be playing two games in Singapore:
- July 26, v. fellow Europa League semifinalist Atletico Madrid
- July 28, v. PSG
Both of these matches will take place at the National Stadium at the Singapore Sports Hub. Arsenal’s last ICC match will be against Chelsea at the wonderfully named Friends Arena in Stockholm on August 4.
There will, additionally, be no Emirates Cup this season, due to “close-season developments at Emirates Stadium”. So if you’re looking for meaningless title wins, you’ll have to be content with the ICC. FLAGS FLY FOREVER.
The rest of the ICC schedule, dates, and venues can be found here. Are you at all interested in the ICC? Are you close to a venue? Will you pay top dollar to go see a “name brand” team run out a B and C squad because the top players are all on their post-World Cup vacations?
