Arsene Wenger confirmed in his press conference that Hector Bellerin will miss tomorrow’s crucial match against AC Milan due to inflammation in his left knee, despite training this morning. According to John Cross of the Mirror, the injury has plagued the right-back for a while.
In his report, Cross notes that Bellerin was dropped for the match last weekend against Brighton for precautionary reasons. Bellerin has apparently been playing through pain for a few weeks, and may miss more time than just tomorrow. Prior to his seven minute cameo off the bench against Brighton, Bellerin had played every minute in the Premier League so far this season, the only Arsenal player to do so.
Cross also reports that Bellerin was not unhappy with the decision to rest him over the weekend, contradicting the less than reliable intrigue that he was upset with Wenger.
Calum Chambers will likely start at right-back in Bellerin’s place, as he did against Brighton, though Ainsley Maitland-Niles is another possibility as well.
Nacho Monreal and Alexandre Lacazette will also miss tomorrow’s match, as expected.
